Effective 24 August 2026 · Internal and authorised-business use of DrainCode by Utility Mapping Group (UK) Limited.

Acceptance and priority

By accessing DrainCode you agree to these terms and applicable company policies. A signed client contract, statement of work, data-processing agreement and report conditions take priority for that engagement. If you lack authority or disagree, do not use the service.

Authorised use

• Use an individually assigned @u-map.co.uk account and protect login links, sessions and devices.
• Access only organisations, projects and evidence needed for your role.
• Upload material Utility Mapping/client is authorised to process; do not add unlawful, malicious or unrelated content.
• Do not probe, scrape, reverse engineer, bypass quotas/controls, share credentials, disable audit trails or place secrets/client evidence in unapproved tools.
• Follow MSCC5/SRM5 procedures, company quality controls, privacy, retention and incident instructions.

AI is assistive — the human is accountable

AI, OCR, parsing, grading and bounding-box outputs are suggestions. They may be incomplete, biased or technically wrong and do not establish ground truth, pipe condition, compliance or repair need. Before any issue or operational reliance, a competent and authorised person must review original footage/context, validate every included observation and grade, correct errors, record limitations and approve the deliverable.

Do not rely on a confidence score as a safety or quality guarantee. Structural coding, urgent hazards, ambiguous footage and high-consequence decisions require heightened review. Users must be able and authorised to change or reject an AI result.

Survey and output limitations

Results are limited by access, visibility, cleaning, camera condition, water, obstructions, source-data quality, survey scope and the condition at the survey time. DrainCode does not warrant that every defect, connection, void, blockage or future failure will be detected. Reports must state relevant scope assumptions and limitations and should not be used outside their stated purpose without written approval.

Client data, confidentiality and IP

Client/project data remains confidential and scoped to its owning organisation. Contractual ownership and licence terms govern deliverables. Utility Mapping retains rights in the DrainCode software, workflows, generic know-how and models, without taking ownership of client source data. Cross-company model training is limited to eligible labelled frames under recorded organisation opt-in; raw videos are not pooled by default.

Availability, changes and suspension

The service may be changed, maintained, suspended or withdrawn for security, legal, capacity or operational reasons. Keep approved source evidence and issued records under company retention procedures. Access may be suspended for suspected compromise, misuse, employment/contract changes or legal request.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, DrainCode is provided as an internal professional tool and not as a substitute for competent survey, engineering, legal, health-and-safety or asset-management judgement. No AI output is guaranteed accurate, complete or fit for a purpose merely because the system generated it.

Liability

Nothing excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Any other limitation must be read with applicable signed client/employment terms and the reasonableness requirements of UK law. These website terms do not create a blanket immunity from claims and do not replace appropriate insurance, documented review or solicitor-approved contracts.

Incidents, termination and governing law

Report suspected security/privacy incidents and material coding errors promptly to info@u-map.co.uk. On loss of authority, stop access and return/delete local copies as instructed; organisation records may remain for contractual, audit, legal-hold or defence purposes. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights and signed dispute provisions.
